Ghana School Project

HIS MAJESTY’S CHRISTIAN SCHOOL, ASAMANKESE, GHANA

Long Term Vision

To design, create and implement a model of schooling, that takes best practices in education, molding into it the very best of cultural perspectives in delivering a student-centered, teacher-supported group of schools in Ghana, West Africa. Our school philosophy for this learning environment has at its core the:

•   Creation and development of sustainable materials within the classroom to ensure a rich learning environment.

Support of our teachers through a mentoring program that invites internationally trained teachers to our school throughout the school year. We call this method one of ‘osmotic teacher development’.

•     Support of parents by offering FREE language literacy and computer literacy classes after school and on the weekends.

What we are hoping to achieve is a synergy between teachers, parents and students. Research supports this fact: when all three are working well together, students succeed. And the ultimate goal of this project is to contribute to student learning so as to effect change in local, municipal and provincial civic life.

  1. Mary how far have you gone with this project. Keep me posted

  2. Chaley, just this morning, I got wonderful news that Worldwide Christian Schools is going to partner with us to construct the building! We are so excited and this will probably start towards the end of the year so that we can probably plan for our first intake in September 2011.
